The CanSLAM has released its 2024 report on SLAM and Mobile scanners currently available on the market. We would like to thank all volunteers, corporate and individuals, who have helped us put together the CanSLAM and the information presented throughout 2024. This initiative would not have been possible without you.
While there were not enough scanner participants to have a meaningful analysis of various platforms, the CanSLAM has responded to this lack of participation with a call to action and a list of all available SLAM and mobile mapping scanners.
As you can see from the report, there are over 30 manufacturers selling over 70 different SLAM or MM units. What's not listed is that there's at least one new company hitting the market next year with a new device and another company looking to validate their unit with the CanSLAM prior to coming to market. Originally, we were only to discuss what units partake in this event, however lack of participation caused the CanSLAM to remove this condition to provide value through this report. After all, there's nothing to report on performance if we don't have performance samples. Instead, we at the CanSLAM would like to introduce you to ALL available scanners that we've found as well as considerations of adoption. With these tools, we're hoping you can leverage both your new knowledge and familiarity with available technology to leverage yourself into a better technological and financial fit for you and your initiative.
The CanSLAM circuit would like to thank you for all your support and encouragement in the last two years. It has been greatly appreciated and we hope to continue to provide you with direction-changing news in SLAM and MM technology well into and past 2025. An emphatic 'thank you' goes out to Eagle Engineering and Consulting, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), the GoGeomatics Expo, and The Committee for showing such great support and encouragement for this endeavour.
Map well!
