Who Can Participate?
Those with product to market
As this is event is about consumer awareness and building an achievable 'tool box,' only devices available for commercial purchase may participate in the CanSLAM. These can be laser devices, photogrammetric devices, a mix, or others! It doesn't matter; if it maps spaces accurately, we want to see!

If you have an external, internal, or internal/external mobile mapping system currently available on the market, we wholeheartedly invite you to register and participate in this initiative for 2024. It doesn't even have to be for your intended niche. We want to see what it can do, not just what it's intended for.
Those wanting to learn & volunteer
We are open to all those looking to learn about mobile mapping and SLAM systems. If you're an industry professional looking to 'get your feet wet,' a geomatics or computer vision student looking to know more, we could use your experience and time.
Post-secondary schools looking to enrich student experience
There is a lot to know and a lot of experiences to share! Part of the value in the CanSLAM is its ability to prepare the workforce of tomorrow for the tools they'll encounter by giving them opportunity to build their own challenging courses or maintaining long-term evaluation scenes as an institution. If you would like to find out how your school might fit with the CanSLAM program, we encourage you to contact us today so we can start to explore the potential together.
Building or Facility Owner?
Have a building, facility, operation or property near one of our participating post-secondary schools? We would be more than happy to examine your site for suitability as a CanSLAM test scene. With your help, we can provide more accessible data for the improvement of these systems and their A.I. downstream processes.

Warning: Images must be anonymized (human faces and license plates removed) prior to being submitted, but there are no processes to filter signs, boards, documents or other readable materials. Some A.I. downstream processes are known to read all legible documentation in available images.
Presentation of Results
After all the information is collected and evaluated, a final report and slideshow presentation will be presented at the National GoGeomatics Expo 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, October 28-30, 2024.
Presentation Date: October 30, 2024 at 11:45am
If you're looking for data prior to 2024, you can find them in the Data Sets Section.
Presentation of results: Oct 30, 2024
