Calgary Circuit 2024

The Calgary Circuit has been constructed by the students and staff at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. It consists of an indoor and exterior mobile mapping course around the iconic Heritage Hall and the SAIT Main Campus.

The interior site is relevant for building asset management and modeling, event hosting/simulation and emergency planning, remote site familiarization and digital twinning. The interior of this course has unique architectural features including complex hand-carved stone grotesques circa 1921.

The exterior course is an example of scanning in an urban canyon with sharp corners (trajectory change) which provides opportunity to test GNSS-absent performance as well as a range of optical and laser resolution ranges.

This test scene has been brought to you by the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Geomatics Department, their staff and instructors, and their students. A full list of participants and volunteers will be available in the CanSLAM Circuit 2024 final report.
